Hadrian, 117-138. Denarius (Subaeratus, 18 mm, 2.37 g, 6 h), uncertain mint in the East, circa 124-127. IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG Laureate head of Hadrian to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. COS III Eagle standing front on thunderbolt, wings spread and head to left. BMC -. RIC pl. 50, 3004 (this coin). Strack -. Very rare and with a particularly charming eagle. Minor breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.
